Fine, but honestly I think you can do better pretty easily. Not a huge chardonnay fan though.

Shiner Kosmos paired with BBQ beef ribs and Mac N Cheese (joys of having a kid lol). Out of Shiner Prickly Pear - boo.

Pinot Grigio has been our go to white lately. Other than weird Italian or Portuguese varietals

Nothing for me. B ut my husband downed what was left of a rather large bottle of pre-mixed blood orange margarita and also had an iced coffee with amaretto that I made for him and as a result, he’s pretty hammered.

I’m kind of a broken record, but this is my favorite margarita glass. I’m rewarding myself for an active day while I wait for my turn in the shower.

Introducing light into the body. I’m working on that. In fact, after some of this, I’ll have a light snack.

Yes the Nikka Whisky is very nice. It’s a bit sweet and smoky, nice and smooth.
The wild one is the North Korean blueberry whiskey. It wasn’t good when we bought it but now, 8 years later, pretty good.

It was umbrella drink night since the Mrs. was joining me so Pina Colada with Cruzan p ineapple-infused rum. I use Goya brand coconut milk and cream, Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (trust me) and Dole crushed pineapple. Nice clean ice (not from the fridge) and a good blender. Put the rum in the blender, don’t add later. Top with a quarter pineapple slice (fresh) and a candied red cherry. Like a smoothie but full of booze.

I was referring to that Balvinie hiding. Great bottle. You’ve got some cool stuff in the collection. I almost bought a bottle of Nikka from the Barrel today but picked up the Scotch in the OP instead.

I snuck out and picked up a collaboration IPA that several of our local breweries did in response to the whole pandemic thing - it’s a dry, hazy IPA, and I am having trouble walking now...

Spot On Pils. It’s a seasonal Czech-style pils from local brewery Thirsty Planet. The company donated four cases of their beer to our school band online auction. I bid top dollar on the case of this pils in hopes of winning. I have never had it before, so I bought a 6 of it before my wife an I headed over to a friend’s house tonight for our first social outing since spring break. The company was good, and the beer is very good too.

It’s derby day even though there’s no derby to watch/bet on this year , which always marks the start of the good part of spring in my mind , so I had a mint julep while cooking dinner. Then a nice Chianti with my steak.

I’ve had their IPA and their Pils on draft. I should seek out their special bottles ... I usually go straight to for that kind of stuff. Do you drink much Belgian style beer?
I hate to say it but I really miss my once a month Leffe at the Belgian beer house in the Edmonton airport.....must be getting real cabin fever...lol.

Right on.
I’m not super diverse (quite frankly don’t drink a whole bunch tbh) but I’ve enjoyed Belgian for sure. I’m not super into bitter either so I tend to lean away from high IBU such as that IPA but I give the good ones a whirl from time to time.
I think their ‘Zephyrus’ beers (bomber line) are that sweet spot for cost and quality. The twenty sixers ‘Eurus and Specialty’ are those “treat yo self” where they’re better, but I’m not at the point of uncorking $12-$15 bottles of craft all the time. I’ll have to check how the Zehyrus is in the cans because I think that might be the way to go as best bang for buck.
Ahhhh, totally. I’m looking at a bunch of stuff I miss or was planning to do now
and can’t
. I mean the weirdest
twist of fate is now we
can say hindsight is 20/20 or hindsight is 2020
(with regards to this year)
.

If you don’t like the hoppy stuff but are looking for a treat beer, I’d recommend a Lindemans Framboise. Or ant of their Lambec beers. I don’t think the LDB carries it, but places like Liberty will have it...
